New York Giants: Surprise…

Someone on the New York Jets roster is running his mouth.

Shocker right?

Not really, but nevertheless the Jets’ DE Sheldon Richardson had a lot to say about the Giants in a New York Post article titled, Jets’ defensive stud doesn’t think much of Eli, Giants:

"“This year, yeah,” the tell-it-like-it-is Defensive Rookie of the Year told The Post.Based on what you saw Saturday night, this is the better team.“If you’re saying if this was a real game and the 1s were out there, I think it would have been a pretty different game,” Richardson said. “It wouldn’t even be close.”Even with the young quarterback?“Geno [Smith]? Even with the young quarterback,” Richardson said. The Giants have a two-time Super Bowl MVP at quarterback.“What does that mean? What-Have-You-Done-For-Me-Lately league, that’s what it’s called,” Richardson said.Oh, and Andre Williams, who labeled the Giants “The Real New York Team” beforehand, didn’t look much like a real NFL running back in the first half, according to Richardson.“He was scared,” the refreshingly-honest Richardson said. “I’ve seen him play at Boston College. Didn’t run the same. He was scared, man. He did his thing against the 2s and 3s though, I give him that.”He was hesitant?“Yeah. Tiptoeing a lot,” Richardson said."

New York Giants: Question?

Why yes, yes he did. And it’s pretty funny really. It’s a preseason game, the New York Giants are installing a new offense and if it were the regular season (as Richardson suggested), the G-Men would’ve also approached the game plan differently. Producing an entirely different outcome.

Nevertheless, the Giants did have their struggles with Jets until Corey Washington went all Corey Washington in the fourth quarter and the Jints won the Snoopy Trophy. Sheldon Richardson called out Andre Williams as scared, which is simply ridiculous.

Especially considering before the game, Williams actually tried to pay tribute to the honor of stepping on the same field with the other New York team:

However, when dealing with the Jets, you can’t expect too much class. So none of this is really surprising… Sheldon Richardson isn’t impressed with Eli’s Super Bowl’s and he thinks Andre Williams runs scared.

Okay — What now, Giants Nation?

Well now everyone knows how Sheldon Richardson feels… and that’s important. Because without hearing and understanding how Sheldon Richardson felt about this past preseason game, LIFE altogether just might have stopped completely. That said, it wasn’t all bad from Sheldon’s viewpoint; in this version from NJ.com titled, Sheldon Richardson: Jets would have beaten Giants in regular season, Andre Williams ran ‘scared’, he actually had some generous words for Rashad Jennings:

"There was one Giants player he liked: running back Rashad Jennings. “He was patient,” Richardson said. “Let his holes develop. Made us hold our blocks a little bit longer.”"

New York Giants: Two Conclusions…

  1. Sheldon Richardson secretly loves the Giants
  2. Sheldon Richardson has Rashad Jennings on his fantasy team
