An Important Win For New York Giants And Their Fans

Here is a slow clap for every member of Giants Nation. Here is a chant for the fans, who stuck in there for 7 straight weeks of disappointing defeats. Give yourself a much deserved pat on the back, this season has not been easy but you have been there every step of the way. It is time to savor the rare sweetness and satisfaction of a 2014 Big Blue victory. Here is a look at the best win of the season for the New York Giants.

The Giants got off to another fast start on the road. The offense efficiently moved the ball down the field for most of the first half and at half time it was 23-0. The Giants faithful were cautiously optimistic, with the Jacksonville comeback all too fresh in the memories. The Giants would hear nothing of another comeback, they put their foot on the gas pedal for 60 minutes of football for the 36-7 victory in Nashville.

Eli Manning had his A game today there is no question about that. Manning was a very efficient 26 for 42 passing for 261 yards.

Manning threw one touchdown with the lone interception as his one big mistake. Manning saw some of his receivers show up big in the winning effort.

Odell Beckham Jr. and Preston Parker combined for 16 receptions and 190 yards; ODB had the lone touchdown reception. Andre Williams was at times dazzling at the running back position.

The offensive line was nearly flawless, something I couldn’t say in any other week. They handled a relentless pass rush and the play calling also helped negate the Titans pressure.

This was the finest performance of the season for the Giants defense who even got involved in the scoring today. The Giants had an amazing 8 sack defensive firework fest. The Giants blitzed more than usual (something I wrote they should do in my game preview) and the blitz worked perfectly. Four of the sacks were by a blitzing linebacker or a defensive back.

The Giants knew that big plays were there for the taking against Zach Mettenberger and they attacked it like their lives depended on it. The Giants dominated in every imaginable aspect of this game.

Every little thing, the Giants did better than the Titans. Do you see what can happen when the Giants take care of the football, protect the passer and not get crippled by unforced mistakes? The little things win football games, and the Giants were sharp today.

New York out gained the Titans in overall yards, 402 to 207. In other words, the Giants broke their 7 game losing streak in the most dominant and exciting way possible. The Giants may not have beaten a very good team but New York will take anything they can get right now.

It has been a long and treacherous path to the glory of a victory but Giants fans were finally rewarded for their loyalty and passion. So here, I declare a standing ovation all over Giants Nation, this win is for you.
