New York Giants: Glimpses Of Hope

The New York Giants brass as well as the fans are obviously focused on the future. The season has been disappointing. We really have drilled this obvious point home. We have talked about why they have failed from every conceivable angle. It is time to actually put a smile on our faces and ponder the glimpses of hope for our one true love, the Giants becoming legitimate contenders again.

The Giants have a lot of young men that are developing as professional football players. The offensive line is arguably the Giants biggest problem area. Justin Pugh is in his second season at right tackle while Weston Richburg, who is playing at the guard position is a rookie.

Both players are talented and have done a lot of things well. Lets not kid ourselves this is on the job training and both of them are works in progress. They look like they will be strong starters for years to come.

The Giants have some stars emerging, they need to put it all together for the future.

The GMEN also have young play making talent. Odell Beckham Jr has earned much notoriety as a stand out rookie wide receiver. Next year Beckham figures to be a perfect compliment to Victor Cruz, who has been sidelined this season with an injury.

Andre Williams is getting better as well in his rookie season. The Giants have young talent on their roster; it may be true that there are many missing pieces to their success but the Giants have some key players in place.

On the defensive side of the football the Giants have found a gem in outside linebacker Devon Kennard. Kennard has had 4.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in his rookie season to go along with 39 tackles. Kennard is not perfect, but even when he makes a mistake he plays fast and hits hard.

The Giants will look for Kennard to develop into a star at the linebacker position, a position they need all the help they can get.

I can’t sit here and tell you that the future is bright for the Giants. There is a ton of work to be done on the roster. What I can tell you is that the Giants have some bright young talent starting to bloom.

The Giants can’t quite see the light at the end of their mediocre tunnel but glimpses of hope fill the air thanks to the experiences these players are going through now.
