Damontre Moore vs. Dallas’ Offensive Tackles

Are we watching Damontre Moore emerge into a fierce pass rusher? The last two

weeks it’s started to look like it. Three sacks, consistent backfield pressure, and an absolutely ridiculous sack dance. This has all the makings of a rock-solid defensive end.

Of course, Sunday will be Moore’s biggest test arguably of his career. With the Giants in need of a pass rushing spark, they’re going to rely on Moore in their defensive line rotation. And he’ll be matched up with two terrific tackles in Doug Free and Tyron Smith—Smith being arguably the best left tackle in all of football.

It’s a battle Moore needs to win, because even Matt Cassel will be effective should he get time to throw. Moore can’t have anymore bonehead plays like he had when he threw Sam Bradford to the ground Monday night because the Giants will need him on the field for this game. It’ll be a good test for the high-ceiling third year player, and one that could dictate how Sunday’s game goes.
