The Dallas Cowboys won yesterday in Tony Romo’s return, though the Cowboys route to the division title is next to impossible. The Cowboys play the undefeated Carolina Panthers on Thanksgiving. A loss to a sensational Panthers team would essentially eliminate the Cowboys.
The Giants have a chance to do battle with the Redskins next week. The Giants cannot afford to lose that game. A win against the Redskins would create some separation for the Giants. The Giants would be 6-5 while the Redskins would fall to 4-7. The Redskins and Eagles meet later this season. The ideal scenario would see a Redskins team that the Giants swept, beating the Eagles.
The Giants finish their season with a game against the Eagles. That game could very well decide the winner of the NFC East. The Giants lost their first game to the Eagles and they got swept last season. While the Eagles don’t seem to be a special football team it is appropriate that they wear green. The Eagles are the Giants kryptonite.
The Eagles could falter before this big season ending showdown however. The Eagles still have the New England Patriots and the Arizona Cardinals remaining on their schedule. The Buffalo Bills aren’t an easy win either. A few Eagles losses could lower the drama going into the finale.
The Giants control their destiny. At the end of the day they have the lead in the division and they are the only ones who can surrender it. The Giants have to take care of their business.
