The New York Giants will host the New Orleans Saints this Sunday. It will be the 29th meeting between the two teams with Big Blue holding a 15-13 edge.

When you think Giant/Saints you think offense. Your next thought might also be offense. The two teams combined to score 101 points in their 2015 meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, the third highest single-game total in NFL history. New Orleans defeated the GMen 52-49. Their most recent meetings prior to that game haven’t lacked any offense either. In match-ups from 2009 to 2012, the winning team scored at least 48 points. The Saints were winners in 2009 (48-27) and 2011 (49-24). The Giants returned the favor in the 2012 season (52-27).

Sunday may end up being another offensive showcase. Or it may come down to the Giants’ improved defense.

As noted in a post on NJ.com, the Saints offense is still “humming.” The defense, not so much. Drew Brees’ unit hung 507 yards on the Oakland Raiders, who allowed 363 yards per game to offenses in 2015. But their defense is as leaky as ever. The Saints allowed Oakland to go for 35 points and 486 yards, and couldn’t get a stop late in the game.
