Lambeau field’s home field advantage is not effective against the Big Blue

Possibly, the New York Giants offense will score at least two touchdowns early on in the game as happened in Week 1’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

The Giants defense will take matters into their own hands by patching up holes to the secondary since the injuries to their valued cornerbacks.

Let us not forget how the Giants are able to comeback and accomplish upsets.

It is easy to dismiss the Giants given their recent uninspired play and expect the Packers to win on both fronts of the game.

These predictions overlook the special quality of Eli Manning and his wide receivers to use some “Junior Mint” divine intervention to elude a blitzing defensive line and find opportunities to keep the first down markers moving.

Packers experts’ and fans’ predictions may be a little too self-serving at this time of the year, especially coming off a bye week.

"New York Giants at Green Bay Packers The Packers (2-1) are back in action this week, looking to build on an impressive offensive performance against Detroit two weeks ago. Sam Shields‘ continued absence is concerning for the secondary, but the roster as a whole looks much healthier than before the bye. That’s good news, and the Pack pulls it off at home. Pick: Green Bay 30, New York 20"

Homefield advantage cannot prevent the Giants from going 3-2.

Maybe Wednesday’s team meeting has been a success. If so, then we can expect a renewed offense that lives up to the hype previous to the start of the season. Manning will pass for over 300 yards and threw three touchdowns. Yes, it is possible for the improbable to happen. The Giants defense will not allow Aaron Rodgers to enter field-goal territory. Yes, this too is possible.

One can imagine the score at half time to be in the Giants favor with a healthy lead. Beckham will have caught over 60 yards. One can imagine Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen happy even. Happiness is the right emotion to feel as a sign of having your team turn things around in your absence. Happiness is also the right emotion to feel knowing how much value you, Vereen, add to the Giants offense after rushing for 67 yards during one carry before being called from the game with a tricep injury.

Pessimism and gloom abound. The good thing for the Giants is that there is a tradition of surprises and upsets. It is the only saving grace for the Giants this Sunday.
