NY Giants OG Will Hernandez

Will Hernandez has never quite lived up to his second-round billing.

Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles may be the low-water mark for Hernandez’s tenure in an NY Giants uniform, but it might also be the beginning of the end of his time in East Rutherford.

Hernandez has struggled mightily this season, allowing four sacks, three more quarterback hits, and 25 total pressures so far this season while garnering a meager 50.7 overall grade from Pro Football Focus.

Ironically, when Dave Gettleman vowed to improve the NY Giants’ offensive line, Hernandez was the first lineman he chose in 2018. But, Hernandez has yet to develop into the kind of player worth building around, and will likely be playing elsewhere as Gettleman’s likely successor tries his hand at rebuilding New York’s woebegone offensive line.
