Candidate #3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich

Byron Leftwich would be another intriguing, exciting option for NY as their next head coach.

Leftwich is a former NFL QB who played 10 years in the league. He sees the game like a quarterback and he has run some damn good offenses in his short time as an offensive coordinator.

Leftwich is easily able to relate to and talk to his players. He was once in their shoes and he has a terrific relationship working with his quarterbacks as a coach. Leftwich started his coaching career in Arizona where Bruce Arians gave him his start in coaching. Following Arians’ retirement in Arizona, Leftwich quickly joined him in Tampa Bay once he came out of retirement. From there, the Bucs signed Tom Brady, they coaxed Gronk out of retirement, signed Lenny Fournette, and the rest is history. Leftwich is the NFL’s reigning Super Bowl champion Offensive Coordinator.

He will be a hot-shot candidate this offseason. He has run a record-breaking, historic offense the last 2 years. Leftwich is a young, fresh candidate with exciting potential. He is a man of integrity, he’s smart and charismatic, and he is clearly destined to be an NFL head coach one day, if not very soon. The question is if the NY Giants can get Leftwich over the likes of multiple other teams possibly in the market for a new coach this season.
