The picks are in for the NY Giants as in Round 1 of the 2022 NFL Draft, they made two huge selections that will make an immediate impact. At No. 5, the Giants selected defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux and at No. 7, they selected offensive tackle Evan Neal.

At first, Giants fans all across the globe were a bit worried that they could have potentially missed out on one of the top offensive linemen after they made Thibodeaux official. It’s no secret that the Giants’ defense was in dire need of a pass rusher and that effectively checks that area of need off the list.

Just a few moments later, you could feel that sigh of relief all across the big apple when it was officially announced they decided to go with Neal. Not only is Neal considered one of the top offensive tackles in all of this year’s draft, but he also fills an immediate void on the Giants’ offensive line.

It’s true, this year’s draft will go down as one of the most important in franchise history because on paper, the Giants have easily earned passing grades with both these draft picks. These are picks that can help jumpstart a franchise back into being a contender again if you think about it. Thibodeaux will easily be a force to reckon with immediately upon arrival and now, the Giants’ offensive line just got a whole lot better thanks to everything Neal brings to the table.

Hopefully, that’ll be all the action the Giants will see tonight during Round 1 as there is still plenty of work left to do. With seven picks at the time of this writing in their arsenal, it will be very interesting to see what new general manager Joe Schoen does on Days 2 and 3.

As of right now, the remaining draft selections the Giants have are…

Round 2: No. 36
Round 3: No. 67
Round 3: No. 81
Round 4: No. 112
Round 5: No. 147
Round 5: No. 173
Round 6: No. 182
