If this is a sign of what’s to come from NY Giants running back Saquon Barkley for the 2022 campaign, then opposing defenders are in for a world of hurt. Few players have looked better than the former No. 2 overall pick during training camp, with the speedster taking things to new heights on Monday. That was unfortunate news for cornerback Aaron Robinson.

In the middle of the session, Barkley had the pigskin in his hands and he turned up the field. Moments later, Robinson met up with him, but Barkley lowered his shoulder and sent the defensive back flying to the turf. It was one hell of a move from the running back and people couldn’t believe what they saw.

Saquon Barkley rocked Aaron Robinson during a training camp practice

On the play seen above, Barkley indeed let Robinson have it, but it also came during a drill where the defense wasn’t supposed to tackle the offensive player. Several Giants players took major issue with Barkley’s behavior, especially linebacker Tae Crowder. Shortly after the Barkley run, a major brawl broke out between the offense and defense. Even coaches got involved.

On one side of things, Robinson’s defensive teammates weren’t going to let Barkley get away with things. On the other hand, though, Giants fans can’t stop talking about the Barkley run, as they’re ready for him to showcase this same kind of burst and power from start to finish during the ’22 campaign.

You of course never want to see things get chippy like this in practice, but hey, at least the Giants are showing some spirit and fire leading up to the regular season, right? This team has what it takes to show major improvements from last year’s 4-13 showing. It will be on guys like Barkley, Daniel Jones and more to silence all of the hate that’s been coming the team’s way.

With this potentially being Barkley’s last season with the G-Men as well, he’s going to want to prove he’s still one of the top running backs in the NFC. He has all the potential to do just that, but he’s simply got to stay healthy and take advantage of what this new-look offensive line will provide him. As for Robinson – shake this one off and don’t even think about sending Saquon a Christmas card this year.
