Luckily, it doesn’t look like we’ve seen the last of promising NY Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger this season. There was plenty of concern on the rookie TE during the Week 7 win over Jacksonville, as he was accidentally hit in the face and he suffered a fractured eye socket. He was then carted off the field, with his jersey bloodied up.

There was worry that Bellinger would be lost for the rest of ’22, but we now know that won’t be the case. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the fourth-round pick underwent successful surgery on Friday. Best scenario, per Fowler, Bellinger will be out for two more weeks. Worst case, it’ll be about six weeks until we see him in action.

NY Giants TE will be back on the gridiron later this campaign

This truly is fantastic news for head coach Brian Daboll, offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and quarterback Daniel Jones. Bellinger has been a pleasant surprise this campaign, as he’s third in the team with his 16 receptions. With Kadarius Toney, now with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Kenny Golladay missing most of the year, Bellinger has become a reliable option for Danny Dimes.

With him so playing well, it was a huge bummer to see him go down against the Jaguars. It’s a frustrating injury no question, but something tells us Bellinger will work his tail off during his rehab from this injury and make sure he’s ready to rock for the later portion of the regular season.

Then, with the Giants playing so well, Bellinger will be ready to make plenty of noise once the postseason rolls around too. The G-Men have surprised plenty of people this year and the same 100 pecent can be said for Bellinger. We can’t wait to see him back on the field making plays for Big Blue.
