Brian Daboll’s update on Daniel Bellinger is just what the NY Giants offense needs
It has been a rough stretch of weeks where the NY Giants have faced a daunting amount of injuries, but it looks like things are finally getting right for Brian Daboll. While the returns of Azeez Ojulari and Evan Neal are massive, countless people can’t wait to see rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger get back on the field.
Bellinger suffered a fractured eye socket in the close win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and he’s been off the field since. However, Bellinger was able to practice on a limited basis on Wednesday and there’s hope he can play vs. Washington. If you ask head man Brian Daboll, he has a good feeling about his young TE being able to put the pads on.
NY Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger could play in Week 13
Before he went down with his knee injury, Bellinger had become one of the favorite targets for Daniel Jones. In seven games for the G-Men, the former San Diego State standout has 16 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns to his name. No one will forget his epic rushing score against the Packers in London either.
Unfortunately for the youngster, he indeed suffered that serious eye injury against the Jags and hearts dropped after seeing him carted off the field. This kid is as tough as they come, however, and he’s been on the grind to get himself back to full health.
With the Giants losing three of their last four games, there’s no question that they’re in dire need of a victory in Week 13 vs. the Commanders. Getting Bellinger back into the mix will only help this team’s chances of recording a victory at MetLife.
With NY at 7-4 on the year, the offense is hungry to play well vs. Washington. We’ll find out soon if Bellinger will be able to try and make a difference – he’s needed back as soon as possible.
