Revenge is sweet when it’s served with a side of humble pie for your rival. While NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has said he has no problems with fellow signal-caller Baker Mayfield, we’re not going to just forget about the time the former No. 1 overall pick decided to bash Danny Dimes for no reason.

Remember when Mayfield, then with the Browns, called out the Giants for using the No. 6 overall pick on Jones? In his interview with GQ, Mayfield indeed took a shot at Jones and the G-Men, saying that, ‘Sometimes people overthink it’ and ‘That’s where people go wrong. They forget they have to win.’

This month alone, Jones has agreed to a four-year, $160 million contract with Big Blue. As for Mayfield, he’s been signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a one-year prove-it deal worth $8.5 million for the 2023 campaign. How’s that taste, Baker?

Daniel Jones has gotten the last laugh on Baker Mayfield

Go ahead and drop the mic on Baker, Daniel. If anything, Jones can look at these old comments from Mayfield and laugh all the way to the bank. Jones was able to get a proverbial jab on Mayfield during the 2022 season when the Giants hosted the Carolina Panthers in a Week 2 contest at MetLife Stadium.

In that game, Jones outplayed Mayfield and helped the G-Men record a 19-16 win. The two embraced after the final whistle. Jones doesn’t have any issues with Mayfield and even said that the new Tampa Bay QB reached out to him shortly after the article was published with the negative comments about him.

These two were able to get things resolved pretty quickly, but you can’t deny that karma caught up to Mayfield quite a bit in this case.

He’s now on his fourth team, labeled a bust after Cleveland took him No. 1 overall not too long ago. Meanwhile for Jones, he put on a show in 2022 and just landed his massive mega-deal. Jones is doing a lot of things right these days. Mayfield? Not so much.
