It's the end of an era and a sad day for New York Giants fans. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Giants have released quarterback Tommy DeVito on Tuesday, ahead of the 53-man roster deadline at 4:00 p.m. The news doesn't come as a surprise to many, as the team was never going to keep four quarterbacks, but it was a tough decision for Big Blue's front office to make.

DeVito had been a fan favorite since joining the organization ahead of the 2023 season. He quickly became a cult hero among fans, earning the nickname Tommy Cutlets, and entertaining us all with his signature hand gesture after touchdowns. DeVito had one more chance to show out in the preseason finale before the G-Men trimmed the roster down to 53, and he did just that. The 27-year-old finished the preseason 30-38 for 323 yards and four touchdowns.
Although Tommy Cutlets balled out, with veterans Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and rookie Jaxson Dart on the roster, he was going to be the odd man out. Now, DeVito is looking for a new home, so let's look at some landing spots where he would be a good fit:
3 best landing spots Tommy DeVito after brutal roster release
1. The New England Patriots
Could Tommy Cutlets be heading up I-95 to Foxborough? The New England Patriots only have two quarterbacks on their depth chart with Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs, and could still sign a third quarterback before finalizing their roster.
New England released undrafted quarterback Ben Woolridge after struggling against the G-Men in the preseason finale, which opens the door for DeVito to join the team as their third-string. The Patriots also got a good look at the third-year signal caller in the preseason finale, where he certainly impressed.
2. The New York Jets
Another landing spot for DeVito could be the New York Jets, and the 27-year-old wouldn't have to go too far from home. The Jets have Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and Brady Cook on their depth chart; however, Taylor missed most of the preseason after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery, and it's unclear if he will be ready for Week 1.
Adrian Martinez was also recently waived by the Jets, which means they could make room for DeVito if they decide to sign him. Like the Patriots, the Jets also got a look at Tommy Cutlets this preseason and could have liked what they saw.
3. The Tennessee Titans
The last landing spot for DeVito is the Tennessee Titans. The Titans will obviously be starting Cam Ward at quarterback this year. However, after this year's first overall pick, they don't have much depth at the quarterback position.
Will Levis will miss this year after undergoing season-ending surgery, and Brandon Allen and Trevor Siemien, who the Titans also roster, aren't necessarily the best backup quarterbacks available. Tommy Cutlets could be heading to Nashville if the Titans are looking for an upgrade.
