The Kayvon Thibodeaux trade buzz simply won't stop. It doesn't matter how adamant New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen is that he has no intentions of moving the edge rusher, analysts consistently push mock trades including him.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox is the latest to do so, putting Thibodeaux atop his offseason trade block. Knox said, "Kayvon Thibodeaux has seemed like a logical trade chip ever since the New York Giants used the fifth overall selection on Ohio State's Arvell Reese. While Reese is perfectly capable of being a top-notch off-ball linebacker in the NFL, his ceiling may be found as an edge-rusher."
We've already covered how Reese's apparent use as an off-ball linebacker should take a Thibodeaux trade off the table. But Schoen might be open for business if a team is willing to overpay for the former first-round draft pick. With that in mind, here are a few admittedly bold mock trades involving Thibodeaux.
3 Kayvon Thibodeaux trades crazy enough for Giants to accept
More often than not in today's NFL, players are traded for draft picks rather than other players. The Giants were reportedly looking for a second-round pick in exchange for Thibodeaux during the 2026 NFL Draft. Deeper into the offseason, there's no reason to think that they would accept any less.
The Atlanta Falcons could be in the market for another edge rusher, especially considering James Pearce Jr.'s uncertain future. If any team is willing to meet New York's asking price, it might be Atlanta.
The Giants have added plenty of receivers this offseason, but the position group still feels a bit shaky. If Malik Nabers isn't fit to start the season, New York could look to add another proven starter on the outside.
New England Patriots wideout Kayshon Boutte has shown flashes of talent as a deep threat and might help open up Matt Nagy's offense. With some draft capital to sweeten the deal, this may be enough to pry Thibodeaux away.
We know how John Harbaugh loves his former Baltimore Ravens, so why not bring Rashod Bateman in as a clear No. 2 wide receiver? The Ravens could still use another edge rusher after adding Trey Hendrickson in free agency. In the middle of a Super Bowl push, they could be willing to pay up for Thibodeaux.
Bateman has been quietly solid for Baltimore and would give the Giants a more secure starter on the outside than they currently have behind Nabers.
