The NY Giants are getting the brakes beat off of them by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but that wasn't enough for Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield. After the former number one overall pick scrambled into the end zone to make it a 23-0 Bucs lead, he couldn't just let the moment happen.
Instead, Mayfield mocked Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito by breaking out his semi-iconic touchdown celebration. This truly is a rubbing salt in the wound moment, considering the Giants are already down and Mayfield is kicking them harder.
Baker Mayfield clowns on Tommy DeVito and Giants fans after Bucs TD
Hey, there's no need to be mad at Mayfield here. The Giants are a bad football team and he's always been an animated guy. His team is taking care of business while DeVito and the Giants are continuing to sink further into irrelevancy.
The Giants had a chance to try and flip the script in this game earlier on when Mayfield fumbled. The Giants defense couldn't jump on the ball that sat there untouched for what felt like an eternity. But no, the Bucs were able to get the ball back and keep running up the score.
DeVito took over as the starting quarterback this week after Daniel Jones was benched and then later released (per his request). DeVito became a fun story a season ago after he was thrust into the starting lineup due to injuries to the Giants quarterbacks but the fun seems to have run out for the newest Giants signal-caller.
DeVito completed just 3-of-5 passes for 31 yards in the first half. Not only that but his offensive line hasn't helped him out much, as he's been sacked three times. It hasn't been a good day for Tommy Cutlets and seeing the opposing quarterback mock his touchdown celebration is truly the cherry on top of a craptactular day.
