One of the main takeaways from the Week 5 NY Giants win over the Seattle Seahawks was no question the great play of rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. Veteran RB Devin Singletary missed the action due to a groin injury, forcing Brian Daboll to give Tracy much more work.

The first-year stud took advantage of his full plate, slicing up the Seattle defense for some impressive runs. By the final whistle of NY's 29-20 victory, No. 29 had carried the ball 18 times for 129 yards. Yeah, it was a sensational day of work for him.

Heading into Week 6, Singletary remains banged up and his status is totally up in the air. Even if he is able to play, the call here for Daboll is a simple one - he needs to keep feeding the hot hand and make sure Tracy gets a ton of carries against a soft Cincinnati defense.

With Singletary's status totally up in the air, why even risk having him see extensive action if someone like Tracy is there to lead the way? Second-year running back Eric Gray could also be used, though not a lot of people have confidence in him.

There are times when Gray shows flashes of being a quality backup, but turnovers have been a major headache for him in '24. In the win over the Browns, Gray fumbled the opening kickoff, which had fans ready to pull their hair out. The G-Men were able to come away with a win despite the awful start.

Then against the Seahawks, Gray fumbled the ball at the one-inch line, with the Seahawks taking it back 101 yards for a touchdown. Ironically enough, another nightmare start was posted there, yet the G-Men were able to leave Seattle with a win. Against the Bengals, no disheartening opening moments can be recorded and the ground game needs to be on point. Having said that, feed Tracy the ball and don't risk further injury for Singletary. Go with the youngster, Coach Dabes.
