Early on in the fourth quarter, NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll had enough. The G-Men, at the time, were trailing 28-3 and nothing was working on offense. Because of that, Daboll decided to end the day of Daniel Jones much earlier than people anticipated.

That's right, Jones was benched and veteran quarterback Drew Lock entered the game. Against the Philly defense, Jones wasn't able to do anything, as the offense as a whole looked incredibly sluggish. Drew Lock took the field and his first drive couldn't have gone much worse either. This was a move Giants fans were begging for. Now, though, is Jones' future as QB1 in question?

Daniel Jones finally benched with the NY Giants struggling vs. Eagles

This could have been a case of Daboll trying to keep his quarterback healthy, as the offensive line was getting Jones beat up all afternoon. However, with the decision coming early on in the final quarter, maybe the Big Blue HC was hoping to see what Lock could do too?

When he meets with the press, we'll find out for sure what Daboll had in mind, but something had to change behind center. This was the second consecutive game where Jones and the offense looked like they weren't ready to go from the start.

That's on Daboll, as there's no reason for his offense to come out with no energy and no passion. Jones made countless headlines for his embarrassing interception against the Bengals and now he's going to make even more headlines for his disappointing showing vs. the Eagles.

Things are only made worse for him and the Giants with the fact that Saquon Barkley put on a show for the Eagles, showing the G-Men just how much they miss him. With so much speculation on Jones' future with the team, it's up in the air what's going to happen the rest of the way. Will Lock start next week, or will Jones take the field vs. Pittsburgh in Week 8? It's a bit unknown, but this is not a good situation for the NY offense this far into the campaign.
