For those of you who have been living under a rock and haven’t been following along with New York Giants training camp, you’re definitely missing out. Malik Nabers has been single-handedly dominating defensive backs in ways nobody thought were possible.
Every day, it’s another Leek highlight going viral. His release borders on best in the league, his ball-tracking is elite, and his playmaking and hands are second to none. His record-breaking rookie season was special and unbelievable, but that might’ve just been the appetizer.

Monday’s practice was more of the same. Nabers absolutely dawged anyone and everyone who lined up across from him. It’s gotten to the point where national media members are starting to wonder if what they’re seeing is real. ESPN’s Ryan Clark took to social media and asked the question every Giants fan (and everyone else) is dying to know.
Ryan Clark is every New York Giants fan with hilarious Malik Nabers-inspired thought experiment
Clark’s been watching what we’ve all been watching: Nabers looks completely unstoppable. In his post, he asked the question: Is Malik Nabers really this good, or are the Giants DBs just that bad?
I don’t know who clips the @Giants training camp practice, but either Malik Nabers is going to have 2,500 yards this year… or they don’t have a corner back that can cover a bed with 10 blankets.

Because he stays wide azz open!
First off, if the second-year wideout actually puts up 2,500 yards, that would be objectively insane. The current single-season receiving record belongs to Calvin “Megatron” Johnson with 1,964. So yeah... insane. Secondly, Giants fans really need it to be the former. If the cornerbacks are getting roasted this badly just because they’re not good at football, that’s a brutal sign for Big Blue.
While the DBs aren’t exactly world-beaters, it might just be Nabers who’s that good. If Monday’s practice told us anything, it’s that he’s already way ahead of the curve.
Here he is lined up across Dru Phillips. His quick stutter-step release instantly creates separation, letting him bounce outside and haul in an effortless over-the-shoulder grab on a go route:

In this next play, Nabers climbs the ladder to make an athletic catch from Russell Wilson. Looked like it was Phillips again in coverage — good coverage — but that didn’t matter. Nobody else was getting that ball:

The best part is this isn’t new. Earlier in camp, Nabers fought through contact from Deonte Banks to make a ridiculous circus grab that basically broke physics. Another dime from Russ, and another highlight for the league’s most electric training camp duo.
Clark might’ve just said the quiet part out loud. He voiced what every Giants fan has been trying to figure out while watching Nabers torch literally everyone in his path. Either the cornerback room needs serious help, or he’s already on that tier. Judging by what we’ve seen every single day at camp, it’s probably time to stop overthinking it.
He really might just be that good.
