UPDATE: Since this article was posted, new information has come in on Malik Nabers, with Brian Daboll announcing that his star wideout has been ruled out for Week 6. It's a blow for the G-Men, as they're hoping to improve to 3-3 this weekend.

Ahead of Sunday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, NY Giants fans everywhere are sitting on pins and needles waiting to find out if star wideout Malik Nabers will be playing or not. After suffering a concussion in Week 4, Nabers missed the upset win over Seattle and he hasn't been able to get in a full practice.

Brian Daboll said Nabers is feeling better, but he's still in the same stage of the concussion protocol. He needs to get on the practice field ASAP if he wants to suit up against the Bengals. With that said, could the latest update from Ja'Marr Chase potentially give us a clue that Nabers is feeling better and he plans to make plays in primetime this weekend?

Will Malik Nabers play against the Bengals for Sunday Night Football?

Per Chase, he and Nabers have been exchanging text messages leading up to this Week 6 matchup and a plan for the two former LSU standouts to swap jerseys has already been made. FOX's Joe Danneman added that this is going to happen 'regardless' if Nabers plays or not, but that only makes us believe the rookie WR is planning to be available.

It's now been more than two weeks since Nabers suffered his concussion, so it's a bit surprising that he still hasn't been able to get in a full session with the team. However, there's still a little bit of time for him to get some work in to get himself ready.

Nabers has been a bonafide stud for Daboll and Co. this season, leading the NFL with his 35 receptions. He's No. 1 in the league in receptions despite missing a game? Yeah, that's right. The hope is he'll be able to play in Week 6, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Should the playmaker be forced to miss his second consecutive contest, look for Darius Slayton to be Daniel Jones' top target once again. Against the Seahawks, Slayton balled out, posting eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown.
