John Harbaugh didn't hold off on signing with the New York Giants until they met his demands for final say on roster construction or staff decisions for nothing. So, for anyone expecting Harbs to come in and play buddy-buddy, you're sadly mistaken.
In a pretty shocking turn of events -- just when it felt like the G-Men were going to keep offensive lineman Carmen Bricillo -- Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reported only two Brian Daboll-era coaches were staying: Charlie Bullen and Tim Kelly, with Bricillo notably not among them.
It was quite shocking, especially after reports that members of the front office, John's dad, and Giants players vouched for the 49-year-old to stay. Even Harbs' buddy and NFL insider Ian O'Connor was surprised by the news, but he was quick to offer an alternative, who practically feels like a shoo-in at this point:
Like everyone else, surprised by Carmen Bricillo news here. Keep an eye on Ravens OL coach George Warhop as a strong possibility. https://t.co/q4H8Z1TwuY pic.twitter.com/QXuWVasKta

Giants expected to replace Carmen Bricillo with John Harbaugh favorite George Warhop
According to O'Connor, Bricillo is out, and George Warhop is in. Warhop became the Ravens' offensive line coach following the hospitalization of Joe D'Alessandris, and after his tragic passing, the 64-year-old took over full-time.
He's been a member of Harby's staff for two years, developing young talent like Daniel Faalele, Tyler Linderbaum, and Roger Rosengarten, while resuscitating Ronnie Stanley's career at left tackle. By all accounts, he seems like a strong choice to replace Bric.
However, there's a lot to be said about Harbaugh only wanting his guys on his staff in East Rutherford, but I, for one, am a bit on the skeptical side. Bringing in your buddies and guys you've worked well with in the past is important, but it does make you wonder: If they didn't have success with a significantly better roster in Baltimore, what makes them think it'll click in New York?
If Warhop does get hired to lead the next iteration of the Giants' offensive line, expect some changes. The Ravens built their line on mass and size, playing smash-mouth football, bully ball. That hasn't been Big Blue's M.O., but maybe it's due to their personnel.
Regardless, major changes are already underway in East Rutherford, for good or bad... shocking or predictable. As for Bricillo, his unemployment stint will likely end quickly. He's a proven guy who should have plenty of suitors looking to bolster the beef up front.
