Ever since the New York Giants hired John Harbaugh, the focus has shifted straight to the rest of his staff. With both the defensive and offensive coordinator spots open, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce and forget about the other members who’ll round out the rest of the group.

And there’s one staff position that’s been gaining some online buzz: offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo. The 49-year-old’s name has been popping up in connection with Harbaugh’s staff, and a growing consensus suggests he’ll return to East Rutherford for another season after doing a pretty stellar job with the unit in 2025.

According to Pro Football Focus, New York’s offensive line finished the season as a top 10 unit -- something that seemed borderline impossible just a season ago. Bricillo had Andrew Thomas playing at an All-Pro level again, and he helped put some respect on Jermaine Eluemunor’s name with a breakout campaign right before free agency.

And in the spirit of “you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” the Giants fan favorite caught wind of Bricillo’s ascension and potential stay in East Rutherford. The social media wizard took to X to publicly endorse his coach, sending a blunt message to his new potential head coach:

Jermaine Eluemunor goes to bat for Giants’ Offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo

I hope you’ve got your ears... eyes open, Johnny. You might want to pay attention to this. Who knew seven simple words, "One of the best in the NFL," could carry that much weight? But they did. And more than anything, they echoed a growing sentiment -- one that’s being felt both inside the building and out (just ask Harbaugh’s dad).

Bricillo made this unit look unrecognizable from last season. They went from being the laughingstock of the league to one of the more stable groups -- all thanks to the Shelocta, PA native. The OL coach came to New York in 2024 after stints with the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders, and in two seasons, he’s done what no one else in East Rutherford has been able to do for over a decade: protect the quarterback.

So not only is it advantageous to keep him because he’s proven he can keep franchise quarterback Jaxson Dart upright, but the players clearly want him around, too. When the chips fall, don’t be surprised if Bricillo ends up being one of the only Brian Daboll hires to stick on Harbs’ staff.

As for Eluemunor, he’ll hit free agency this spring in hopes of locking in one final long-term deal. It’s unclear if the 31-year-old will be back in North Jersey, but even if he leaves for a bigger payday, if his public endorsement helps convince Harbaugh to keep Bricillo around for the next wave of linemen, it’s far from the end of the world.
