The New York Giants have finally found the answer they’ve been looking for at quarterback with the emergence of rookie Jaxson Dart, who has led Big Blue to two wins in three starts, including a primetime victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dart’s impressive play over the past three weeks has solidified him as the franchise’s long-term starter, which has left many wondering what will happen to veteran signal-caller Russell Wilson, who was named the Week 1 starter by head coach Brian Daboll.

Football fans everywhere believed the Cincinnati Bengals would look to trade for the 36-year-old before they acquired Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns, which proved to be the right move after Flacco led the Bengals to an upset win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. With the trade deadline less than three weeks away, several teams could still be in the market for a quarterback like Wilson.

ESPN links Russell Wilson to Colts ahead of NFL trade deadline

ESPN's Bill Barnwell recently named 13 offers that make sense at this year’s NFL trade deadline, and one of them has Wilson heading to the Indianapolis Colts:

Indy isn't necessarily in desperate need of a quarterback, given how well former Giants-turned-Colts quarterback Daniel Jones has played this season. Ear muffs, Giants fans, but Jones is currently leading the league in quarterback rating (79.7) and has led the Ponies to a 5-1 record through the first six weeks.

So the issue isn’t whether or not the Colts need a quarterback; it’s who will back up Danny Dimes if something happens. Anthony Richardson Sr. suffered an injury during warmups last week. Since the Colts appear to be contenders, they may be seeking veteran depth behind Jones and could acquire Wilson at an incredibly low cost if they choose to. The idea of two failed Giants quarterbacks sharing a QB room in Indianapolis has to make fans laugh.

The Giants have veteran Jameis Winston rostered in case something happens to Dart, so moving on from Wilson wouldn’t create any issues at all really. Instead, it could provide the team with draft capital or cash considerations to make another move... like trading for a receiver.

We know the G-Men are in the market for a wide receiver. With Malik Nabers sidelined for the remainder of the year, they've been linked to just about every name under the sun, such as Jaylen Waddle, Chris Olave, and Jerry Jeudy.

Barnwell suggested in the same article that the Giants could trade for Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, which would allow them to pick up cash and a draft pick for Wilson, making it a potentially useful move that sets up the next step in acquiring wideout depth.

So, Joe Schoen — what are you waiting for? Make the calls at the deadline to put this team in the best position possible for Jaxson Dart to lead them to the promised land.
