The New York Giants spent a first-round pick on Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and now the question is - When will we see him make his first start? Through the Giants' first three games, which saw them go 0-3, the team has started veteran Russell Wilson and he's coming off a rough outing against the Chiefs where he threw two picks.

While appearing on The Dan Patrick Show, broadcaster Louis Riddick was asked when the Giants should start Dart and he didn't even wait for the question to be completely asked before the answer of "Now" came out of his mouth.

"I don't believe in the whole you ruin quarterbacks by playing them too early," Riddick said. "It's a case-by-case thing. We saw it last year with Drake Maye. A lot of people thought you would ruin Drake Maye in his rookie season if you played him too early but he inspired the football team. I think Jaxson played a lot of football at Ole Miss, he was very well-schooled at an SEC school. He infuses that football team really with confidence. He could give them some hope, he could give the fan base some hope... Long story short, put him in there now."

Louis Riddick says the time for Giants to start Jaxson Dart is now

Many NFL teams that draft a quarterback in the first round opt to have a veteran signal-caller start the season before eventually turning it over to the rookie when either the veteran struggles, is injured, or whatever the reason may be. The Giants fell into this same routine but Riddick argued that they don't need to be sticking with Wilson and that Dart is plenty ready to take over the reins.

It's hard to disagree with Riddick's take here. Giants fans are ready to see Dart take over, especially with Wilson struggling this past week and the team seemingly going nowhere through the first month of the season.

The Giants are at home next week against a 3-0 Chargers team, and the following week hit the road to play the Saints in New Orleans. Will the Giants take Riddick's advice and let Dart finally start for the team that drafted him? Fans sure hope so.
