Is this fair for NY Giants wideout Malik Nabers? It’s hard to say, but there are some Giants fans who aren’t too thrilled with the first-round pick right now. Nabers suffered a concussion in Week 4 and he missed the upset win on the road over Seattle.
On Friday, head man Brian Daboll announced that the rookie won’t be cleared in time and he’ll also miss the Sunday Night Football clash against the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s no question a bummer for this offense having him miss another game.
The main reason some Big Blue supporters are upset with Nabers is because a video has gone viral of him at the Travis Scott concert in New Jersey earlier in the week. Nabers was having fun just like anyone his age should 100 percent be allowed to do when off the field. However, for someone working their way back from concussion symptoms, is a crowded, loud environment the best place for him while he’s still trying to recover?
Some NY Giants fans are upset with Malik Nabers after he was ruled out for Week 6
Had Nabers been cleared for SNF and been in action, then no one would have batted an eye. Again, this would have just been a simple case of him enjoying his time off and taking in a concert just like everyone else across the league does every week.
It’s just the fact that he’s still injured and not at 100 percent that has some people ticked off. This is also probably something Daboll and Joe Schoen would have preferred for him to skip, but alas, that wasn’t the case.
Nabers has been electric for the Giants this season, leading the NFL with his 35 receptions through four games he’s been healthy for. Him missing back-to-back weeks is concerning. Will he be good to go for Week 7 against the Eagles?
We thought he’d be fine for Week 6 vs. the Bengals, but it will be on Darius Slayton, Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt to try and make life easier for Jones once again with Nabers sidelined. The G-Men were able to survive without him against Seattle and soon we’ll know if that will be the case too vs. Joe Burrow and Co.
