NY Giants dealt another massive blow with Malik Nabers update for SNF

This is the last thing the Giants need.

This is quite surprising. It has now been more than two weeks since NY Giants wideout Malik Nabers suffered his concussion against the Dallas Cowboys.

He missed the Week 5 win over Seattle, but the hope was that he'd be good to take on Cincinnati. That's not going to happen.

On Friday, Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced that his first-round pick has been ruled out for the Sunday Night Football clash. Once again, Daniel Jones will have to rely on others to step up for this team with Nabers sidelined.

NY Giants WR Malik Nabers officially ruled out for Week 6 vs. Bengals

Again, this is pretty dang surprising. Nabers was said to have been feeling better, but clearly things haven’t reached a point where he can get in a full practice, let alone play a game in primetime. Is this something to worry about moving forward?

We’d say so, as the expectation was that he’d be ready to rock by now. With that said, the Giants could be playing things safe with their first-round pick, as the last thing they want to do is rush him back too soon. There’s too much invested in this kid.

With Nabers now set to miss his second consecutive contest, the Giants will surely rely on Darius Slayton to be the featured wideout against the Bengals. With Nabers not at Lumen Field last Sunday, the veteran WR put on a show, finishing with eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown.

Wan’Dale Robinson was also targeted quite a bit, including getting the G-Men on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a seven-yard touchdown reception from Jones. What about Jalin Hyatt? Could we see more of him vs. Cincy?

In the win over Seattle, Hyatt played more, but he didn’t haul in a single reception. We’d like to think that’s going to change with Nabers unavailable for this upcoming meeting with the Bengals. We’ll see how the offense will fare with Nabers out, but this news surely stings for more than one reason.
