Folks, we’ve officially made it through the offseason. It wasn’t easy, but after minicamps, OTAs, training camp, and preseason games, we’ve finally arrived at the August 30 deadline for roster cuts. And boy, do the New York Giants have their work cut out for them.
The Giants are fresh off a 23-6 thumping of the Jets in their preseason finale, which should give head coach John Harbaugh and general manager Joe Schoen plenty to think about as they shake the roster-cut tree to see what falls.
This is an unrecognizably talented roster -- shoutout to Harbaugh and Schoen for the teamwork. There are roster battles all over the 90-man offseason roster, and while the fight to make the final 53 has ended on the field, it’s only just begun behind closed doors.
Did Odell Beckham Jr. do enough to claim a receiver spot? Will any one of Darius Muasau, Zaire Barnes, Trace Ford, and Caleb Murphy steal a spot on the back end? Did Lucas Patrick fend off Bryan Hudson for the backup center spot? And what the hell is going to happen to Tyrone Tracy Jr. come Sunday?
