Week 15 is in the books, and unfortunately, so was the same old result that fans have grown accustomed to seeing from the New York Giants.
New York dropped their eighth consecutive game on Sunday to the Washington Commanders, 29-21, in a game that can only be called the battle of the NFC Least with both division foes in the midst of disappointing years. The G-Men are now 2-12 for the second year in a row and currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft.
Even though Sunday's contest against Washington certainly saw questionable playcalling, as well as Big Blue looking flat from the get-go, Giants fans at least were finally able to see their hopeful franchise quarterback, Jaxson Dart, play in front of a home crowd for the first time in nearly a month.
Was Dart's return to the Meadowlands in fact the biggest takeaway from another Sunday clunker by the G-Men?
Jaxson Dart's 'ok' performance called biggest takeaway for the Giants on Sunday
The Bleacher Report staff came out with its weekly takeaways from across the NFL. For NY, it was, "Jaxson Dart offers a sliver of hope." There really wasn't much to be excited about from Big Blue's effort against the Commanders. At least their young signal-caller put on a solid showing.
"It's getting harder by the week to find a takeaway for the Giants that isn't some permutation of 'this is a terrible football team,"' the article wrote. "So, in the interest of some holiday positivity, we'll focus on rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. He wasn't great Sunday—his passer rating in the game was a so-so 83.8. But the Ole Miss product threw for 246 yards and two scores with a pick and added 63 rushing yards on nine carries. Once this woeful campaign is completed, the offseason focus in New York will be building around the promising young signal-caller."

While it is true that Dart wasn't spectacular on Sunday, he had to get checked for a concussion for the fifth time in 10 games. At this point, the Giants’ season is a lost cause, and the end of another demoralizing year can’t come soon enough.
The G-Men and their frustrated fanbase should at least be excited to know that they have their potential franchise quarterback for years to come. Sunday's loss, while demoralizing, showed Jaxson Dart's strong potential even in a lost season.
