In today’s media landscape, news moves faster than ever. That’s why outlets shell out the big bucks to insiders like Adam Schefter, Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo — whoever gets it out first, wins. These “reporters” don’t wait. They don’t sit. They fire off news the second it’s ready to be fired — case in point: the Jaxson Dart update in East Rutherford.
Schefter broke the news of Dart being named the New York Giants’ Week 4 starter before anyone in the building even knew — because, well... it’s 2025. So should anyone really be surprised that fellow rookie Cam Skattebo found out just like the rest of us — on social media? It shouldn't.
Cam Skattebo is Jaxson Dart's locker neighbor and they've gotten close the past four months.

How did he find out about Dart becoming QB1?
"Social media, just like you," he told me. "Saw the pic, saw the news, made a call. Simple as that, and we'll bring our best for him."
Skatt made sure to say, ‘Saw the pic, saw the news, made a call. Simple as that,’ because you know there are always bear-pokers waiting for their time to shine. Some are already itching to stir up a crisis just because ESPN’s senior insider broke the update before Brian Daboll even addressed the team.
Cam Skattebo reacts to Jaxson Dart news the only way he should
You can practically hear the feathers being ruffled and overreactions churning: "Can you believe Skattebo found out about a starting quarterback change via Adam Schefter?!" Uh, yes I can. That's kind of exactly why those insiders are relevant.
Regardless of how he received the information, the Giants are going to need their rookie running back to build off his impressive Week 3, and be a real out for Dart. Not everyone can come into their career opener and dominate like — checks notes — Daniel Jones.
The former Arizona State legend had himself a massive breakout in Week 3, accumulating 121 all-purpose yards, looking every bit of the steal fans thought he'd be when they drafted him. Expect a heavy dose of Skatte-boom in Week four against the Bolts to help ease Dart into his first start.
It's clear that everyone inside the building is behind the quarterback change. It's arguably the biggest change under center since Jones took over for Eli Manning. Here's to hoping the rookie's debut goes just as well as Danny Dimes' did.
And if it doesn’t? Don’t worry — fans will find out from social media just like Skattebo (and everyone else) did.
