The NFL Combine brought us so much more than just getting an opportunity to watch the next crop of talent coming out of the college ranks. As usual, it brought plenty of rumors and chatter around the league, and the New York Giants were a major player in said fodder.
After the Matthew Stafford news hit, the Giants were forced to turn their attention to other options. With Stafford remaining in Los Angeles, New York appeared to be wide open to all quarterback scenarios.
One name, in particular, rang louder than most, though: current Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The Giants are reportedly interested in bringing in the former Packers quarterback, but will look at all options on the table, including the 2025 draft class.
As Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer recently noted, though, the opportunity of landing Rodgers will obviously bring up another notable name into the picture.
The Giants could be in on Davante Adams if they landed Aaron Rodgers
Breer talked about there being "real interest" when it came to the Giants wanting to bring Rodgers in. Among some other potential targets, Rodgers might just be the perfect stop-gap for New York. And, that will of course bring up Davante Adams' name.
After talking about the potential of New York getting their hands on Rodgers, Breer mentioned the idea of Adams following his quarterback.
"... (the Giants) could bring in Davante Adams, which would be part of the Rodgers allure," Breer wrote.
These are not difficult puzzle pieces to put together, but just because something makes sense to fans doesn't always mean it will come to fruition in reality.

In this case, though, there seems to be a real possibility. Breer agrees with the vast majority.
If we've come to know one thing about Rodgers, over the years, it's that he stays loyal to his favorites. He does what he can to bring in those who he trusts and likes, regardless of where he's at.
With the Giants, that would be no different as it appears likely Rodgers and Adams could be a package deal, in a way. Both players are nearing the end of their careers, with Rodgers of course being much closer to retirement.
Adams showed the ability to play at a high level toward the end of last season when he had some bigger performances with Rodgers under center, despite the Jets being out of the postseason picture.
If Rodgers and Adams came to New York, that changes things in a big way. The Giants are much closer to competing than some might think. Imagine Rodgers, Adams, Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy being the core offensive group with an improved offensive line compared to a couple of years ago.
That just might work.
