Giants’ newest chaos agent is ready to unleash a monster in Cam Skattebo

I hope you're hungry.

Here I was thinking I couldn’t be more excited about the New York Giants signing Patrick Ricard. Then he held his introductory press conference and now I’m trying my hardest not to run through the walls of my office. I appreciate the thoughts and prayers as I work through these tough times.

Pancakes are officially on the menu every Sunday. Ricard didn’t earn the nickname Pancake Pat because he's a regular at IHOP. His physical run-you-over play style fits exactly what new head coach John Harbaugh wants this offense to become: smash-mouth football. And he knows it, too.

When speaking with the media on Thursday, the 31-year-old was asked what it’s going to look like when the human version of a dump truck starts paving the way for running back Cam Skattebo. His answer couldn’t have been more electric:

"It's going to look like a lot of yards and a lot of touchdowns."

That's one way to help the 24-year-old achieve his goal to become the best RB in Giants history.

Alexa, play All Star by Smash Mouth.

Patrick Ricard sounds ready to unleash chaos in the Giants backfield

Pancakes for everyone. Literally. Like, pancakes for every opposing linebacker or safety who tries to get in the way of the 300-pound moving block of cement.

It sounds like he knows exactly what’s expected of him. And honestly, he probably does. Not only did he predict that short-yardage situations with him and Skatt are going to freaking rule, but he also made it clear he wasn’t going anywhere unless it was to play for his former Baltimore Ravens head coach, which somehow made an already awesome press conference even better:

"As soon as I saw [John Harbaugh] got the job here, I was definitely interested. I even told him if you were coaching a Pop Warner football team, I'm interested."

That’s exactly why Harby wanted him in North Jersey. Ricard has spent the last decade flattening defenders into submission and opening highways for some of the league’s best rushing attacks. Now he gets to do it for the human-sized fire hydrant and Tyrone Tracy Jr.

Skatt already runs like every defender personally offended him, and Tracy adds a different juice behind him. Put Pancake Pat in front of that (breakfast) combo, and Big Blue's run game could feast.

The G-Men didn’t make Ricard the highest-paid fullback in football to stand around and watch. A million touches a game. If his “yards and touchdowns” prophecy holds up, Giants fans should probably stock their pantries with maple syrup on Sundays.
