Free agency hasn't officially started yet, but the rumor mill has been on fire with “insiders,” “analysts,” and “content creators with sources” talking about what they are hearing about multiple players. For the New York Giants, three names keep coming up more than the rest. Out of their main free agents, wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, cornerback Cor’Dale Flott, and right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor have been the most talked about.

Unfortunately for Giants fans, the organization will almost certainly not retain all three. For fans, it feels like the same old story year after year. The team actually hits on a player in the NFL Draft, he balls out, and then the Giants don't re-sign him once his rookie contract is up.

Look at players like Saquon Barkley, Julian Love, and Xavier McKinney. Three former draft picks who left and found success elsewhere, with two of them becoming key pieces on Super Bowl teams. The G-Men can never seem to hold onto their homegrown talent, and this offseason could be another painful example.

Giants likely forced to choose between Wan’Dale Robinson, Cor’Dale Flott, and Jermaine Eluemunor

The wide receiver market already appears to be heating up, and after a career year with over 1,000 receiving yards, Robinson seems all but gone and potentially on his way to Tennessee. Robinson’s market is rumored to be floating above the $24 million per year mark, a price NY is unlikely to match. New York will still be in the market for at least one veteran receiver, but it probably will not be anywhere near that number.

The market for Flott sounds much more manageable. His expected price range sits somewhere between $8 million and $14 million per season. The cornerback had something of a breakout year and finally looked like the CB2 the Giants have been searching for. Letting him walk would be a bitter pill for fans to swallow.

Eluemunor’s market could end up higher. He is coming off a strong season and considers himself one of the best right tackles in the league. After finally fielding a top offensive line unit for the first time in nearly a decade, it would be difficult for the Giants to let a key contributor walk. For now, the team remains in the driver’s seat if it wants to bring him back.

The writing appears to be on the wall for Giants fans. It seems far more likely the team will focus on re-signing Flott and Eluemunor while allowing Robinson to test the market. The moment Brian Daboll was introduced as the offensive coordinator for the Titans, Robinson was quickly linked to Tennessee.

With Robinson’s projected deal rumored to exceed $80 million over four years, the Giants may turn to the draft to find another receiver while also adding a cheaper veteran option. While names like Mike Evans have been mentioned, the team will more likely look at players in the Darnell Mooney, Jauan Jennings, or Rashid Shaheed tier.

The Giants could also explore adding help at tight end. A young playmaker at the position could be appealing for the offense.
