The New York Giants wasted no time getting into offseason mode after another season mercifully came to a close. Free agency and the draft may steal the spotlight, but the team’s front office has already gotten to work laying the foundation for its 2026 roster.
These aren’t the splashiest moves. Most fans won’t even notice them. But they matter, especially for a team that’s lacked back-end roster depth for years. And general manager Joe Schoen knows it... or at least, he should -- by now. Maybe.

Six players were added to the offseason roster on Monday, and chances are, a few of the names will ring a bell. Each spent time on the practice squad during the 2025 season.
Giants kick off 2026 offseason with wave of futures signings
Here’s a quick look at the six futures signings the G-Men have made so far:
- LB Swayze Bozeman
- TE Tanner Conner
- OLB Trace Ford
- OL Reid Holskey
- SAF Patrick McMorris
- CB Myles Purchase
Bozeman bounced between the practice squad and active roster in 2025 due to Big Blue's linebacker injury bug but managed to carve out a niche as a special teamer. He appeared in six games, racking up six tackles, and earned a reserve/futures contract heading into 2026.
After four years in South Beach, the G-Men signed Conner to their practice squad in December. Though his time in New York has been brief, the team clearly saw enough to lock him in with a futures deal. It’s been a steady climb for the former Idaho State wideout, who carved out a minor role in Miami before landing in East Rutherford.
Soon-to-be 25-year-old Trace Ford made a name for himself in the preseason after going undrafted out of Oklahoma. He's a twitched-up, undersized pass-rusher (6-foot-2, 250 pounds) who'll face an uphill battle to make the active 53-man in 2026.
Holskey turned 24 on Jan. 3 -- and two days later, likely got the best belated birthday gift of his life with a futures contract. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound guard landed on the Giants’ practice squad in September and stuck around all season. A strong summer could put him in the mix come late August.
Listed at 6-foot, and weighing 205 pounds, McMorris has the typical size for a defensive back. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the athleticism. After six games with the Miami Dolphins, the 24-year-old was signed to NY's practice squad in December.
You break it, you buy it -- Myles Purchase was signed to the Giants' P-squad twice last season, earning a further look on the 90-man offseason roster.
Along with Monday’s six futures deals, Dante “Turbo” Miller, Xavier Gipson, and Jarrick Bernard-Converse were all unofficially added earlier -- each promoted to the active roster the Saturday before their season finale against the Dallas Cowboys.
