NY Giants get the worst Malik Nabers injury update possible for Week 5

Fans were hoping this wouldn't be the case.

While it felt like a longshot, NY Giants fans still had some hope that star wideout Malik Nabers, who suffered a concussion in the Week 4 loss to Dallas, would be cleared in time to take on the Seahawks. Daniel Jones and Co. need him out there for a shot at an upset.

However, no last-minute miracle is on the way, even with Brian Daboll previously saying the Giants were going to wait to make a final decision. The call has been made, with Daboll telling reporters on Friday that Nabers has been ruled out and that he won't be traveling with the team to Seattle:

NY Giants WR Malik Nabers has officially been ruled out to face the Seahawks

Nabers went down late in the primetime showdown with Dallas. Before suffering his head injury, he had posted 12 receptions for 115 yards. It was the third consecutive unreal game for the No. 6 overall pick, as he has exceeded expectations for NY thus far.

The bad news, though, is that he's already dealing with some injury adversity, something the Giants as a whole are quite used to. This team can't seem to catch a break. Nabers has easily been the biggest bright spot despite the 1-3 start, but now he has to miss his first pro game after only four contests.

With Nabers out, guys like Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton are going to have to step up. Could we see Jalin Hyatt make an impact vs. the Seahawks as well? Hyatt has barely been used early on this campaign, but that could all change at Lumen Field.

With Devin Singletary dealing with a groin issue too, it's bad news across the board for Daboll's offense. He's going to have to get creative with his play-calling, as not having Nabers available is going to be a major blow for him against a stingy Seahawks defense.
