Can't everyone just enjoy an NY Giants win for more than five minutes before rough news comes in? Apparently not. While speaking to the media, head man Brian Daboll revealed that third-year pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux underwent wrist surgery.

Daboll added that Thibodeaux is considered 'week-to-week,' giving fans hope that maybe he'd only miss a game or two. However, beat writer Dan Duggan has thrown a bit of cold water on that optimism.

Per Duggan, Thibodeaux might end up missing 4-6 weeks and a trip to Injured Reserve could be on the table for him. Missing Thibodeaux for that amount of time would sting quite a bit for this young defense.

Yeah, this isn't great news on Thibodeaux. Including the game against the Bengals, the Giants have five more battles on their schedule before a bye come Week 11. Big Blue will travel to Germany in Week 10 to take on the Panthers in Munich.

That's going to be a fun trip, but with the bye coming the next week, maybe it would make sense to just have Thibodeaux get himself close to 100 percent and return for the Week 12 contest against the Bucs on Nov. 24 instead?

Things are fluid here, but Thibodeaux is going to miss a significant amount of time. What does this mean for Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen? The Giants could lean on Azeez Ojulari to step in for Thibodeaux on the other side of the line from Brian Burns.

However, Ojulari has had a ton of trouble staying healthy over the past two seasons. In addition to Ojulari, Boogie Basham is the only other DE/OLB listed on the depth chart, while Benton Whitley and Tomon Fox are on the practice squad. This tells you that outside help is needed.

A free agent signing on the way? There aren't a ton of quality names out there, unfortunately. What about a trade for someone buried on a depth chart? That could be in play too. Whether it be a veteran signing or a trade, Schoen and Co. need to do something.
