Overlooked Day 2 WR just dove headfirst into Cam Skattebo-Jaxson Dart chaos

The only Boston I'll root for.

Alexa, play "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" by the Dropkick Murphys. Actually, make it "I'm Shipping Up to the Pacific Northwest," where University of Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston has been quietly building a case as one of the more intriguing pass-catchers in this class.

Boston sits just below names like Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, and USC’s Makai Lemon, but firmly in that next group, probably headlining it. That makes him an interesting play for the New York Giants at No. 37 on Day 2 if they go another direction with the fifth overall pick.

The G-Men haven’t often been floated as a suitor for the 6-foot-4 receiver, and that was pretty clear at the NFL Combine, but that doesn’t mean he can’t catch their attention. And he might’ve done exactly that when speaking with the media on Friday.

The physically imposing receiver did not get a meeting with Giants brass at the combine, but that didn’t stop him from throwing his name into the ring. Boston sounded like everyone who’s watched Cam Skattebo and Jaxson Dart and knows the FOMO is real:

"I did not meet with the Giants, unfortunately, but playing with Skattebo and Jaxson Dart -- two electric guys -- I love their energy, the media energy they put out. I’d love to be around those guys and get to be on a team with them."

Denzel Boston all but admits the Cam Skattebo and Jaxson Dart energy is contagious

Dart and Skatt didn’t exactly ease into things when they got to East Rutherford. They met at the facility and immediately headbutted each other like they’d known one another for years. That pretty much set the tone for their bromance.

The two rookies became impact starters and even faster friends, bringing a loud, borderline chaotic energy to a locker room that desperately needed it. Skattebo has called their dynamic “a little crazy,” which tracks if you’ve watched them for more than five minutes. They feed off each other, on the field and off it, and that kind of chemistry has a way of pulling other guys in. Cue Denzel Boston.

Boston would bring something this offense doesn’t have right now: a 6-foot-4 boundary target who wins in tight spaces and lives in the red zone. He’s a true X receiver with strong hands, a high contested-catch rate, and the kind of box-out ability that'll make him an instant friend of Dart's.

Put him next to Dart and Skattebo and suddenly this whole pseudo-social experiment feels a little unhinged in the best way possible. Fun football might actually be all the way back in New York.

If general manager Joe Schoen and head coach John Harbaugh really want to lean into the chaos, and they probably definitely should, taking Boston at 37 if he's there suddenly doesn’t feel that far-fetched. Combine meeting or not.
