No way NY was ever going to send him there.

Could you imagine NY Giants great Michael Strahan playing for any other team? Nope, no thanks - we don't even want to envision him donning a different jersey. The Pro Football Hall of Famer spent every minute of his amazing career in East Rutherford and we wouldn't have had it any other way. Well, another team didn't want that to be the case.

While speaking to the crowd at the 'Night of Champions' Giants event at Fanatics Fest NYC recently, Strahan said that Washington always tried trading for him during the NFL Draft. It got to the point where they knew the G-Men would never do it, but they'd still call anyways as a joke. We don't blame them for trying, but come on, Strahan was BORN to be a Giant.

Strahan trolled the Commanders a little bit too, which certainly fired up the crowd on hand. Strahan ended up playing 15 seasons for the Giants, helping the team win two Super Bowl titles. The long list of accomplishments for the team legend can't be overstated. In addition to the Super Bowl wins, he was a four-time First-Team All-Pro pick, while also taking home Pro Bowl honors seven times.

Oh, let's not forget that he finished with 141.5 career sacks, including 22.5 during the 2011 season alone. Those 22.5 remain the highest ever for a single campaign, tied with Steelers star J.J. Watt. Third-year Giants standout Kayvon Thibodeaux has consistently said that he wants to break that record. Some people have come close to topping the number, but Thibodeaux wants to make it happen.

Strahan would hate to see his record be broken, but he may be able to sleep at night knowing a rising Big Blue talent will be the one to capture the No. 1 spot. Regardless of that, Strahan remains a huge fan of this organization and his love for the G-Men is tough to match.

He'll always be a fan favorite too, as his bubbling personality matches what he was able to get done on the field. Washington had to be jealous of the way he performed for the Giants. The same can surely be said about Philly and Dallas as well.
