After what everyone experienced on Sunday night, it's about time some good news came in for the NY Giants. In this case, we're talking about star left tackle Andrew Thomas, who has been battling a hamstring injury he suffered during the 40-0 loss to the Cowboys.

There was plenty of concern that Thomas had suffered a serious injury, one that would sideline him for an extended period of time. Fortunately, that's not the case and he's just pretty dang sore right now. While it's unknown if he'll play on Sunday, Thomas should be out on the field much sooner than a lot of people expected:

Andrew Thomas could still miss Week 2 against Arizona

As positive as this update is, ESPN's Jordan Raanan makes a good point here. With the San Francisco 49ers showdown coming next Thursday, head man Brian Daboll could decide to rest Thomas this weekend so that he's closer to 100 percent for the massive Thursday Night Football game.

Thomas is the straw that stirs the drink for the Giants offensive line - a group that looked horrendous against Dallas in Week 1. We'll see how much practice time Thomas gets over the next couple of days ahead of the weekend, as it will play a major role in if he ends up suiting up or not vs. the Cards.

La'El Collins released by the Bengals and Giants fans want him

Speaking of offensive linemen, will Joe Schoen and the Big Blue front office end up calling veteran offensive tackle La'El Collins? The right tackle is far from perfect, but he could be a good option for the G-Men.

The Giants already have a starting RT in Evan Neal, but countless NY supporters are begging Daboll to move him to right guard. Both Neal and RG Mark Glowinski had a rough Week 1. Collins will surely be a name to watch over the next few days.
