Giants News: Tiki Barber backs Daniel Jones, Dallas star dealing with ankle issue
With the NY Giants taking on the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, you already know there are going to be countless debates about Daniel Jones and Dak Prescott. Who's the better quarterback leading up to the new campaign?
A large majority of people will be quick to say that Prescott is on a different level compared to Jones. Don't tell that to Big Blue legend Tiki Barber. This week, Barber said that he would rock with Danny Dimes '100 times out of 100' instead of Prescott:
Tiki Barber is confident Daniel Jones will have a strong showing vs. Dallas
Those are some confident words out of Barber, who is ready to see what Jones can do against Dallas in primetime. Things haven't been easy for Danny Dimes against America's Team, as he is 1-6 against them in his career.
Come Sunday, though, there are no excuses for the fifth-year signal-caller. There's plenty of excitement surrounding the new-look NY offense, with Darren Waller creating enormous buzz from the moment he arrived in New Jersey.
After inking his mega-deal too, Jones knows there's going to be a ton of pressure on him to step his game up this season. Barber will be quick to say, 'I told you so' if Jones records a 2023 to rememeber.
Tyron Smith dealing with an ankle injury for the Cowboys
Speaking of Sunday's game, how close to 100 percent will Dallas offensive tackle Tyron Smith be? The Cowboys dropped their injury report on Thursday and it was revealed that the superstar OT is dealing with an ankle injury.
While this isn't considered to be serious, it would be a major blow for the Cowboys if Smith is either unable to go or limited against the Giants. New York has a superb pass-rush, highlighted by Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari on the outside.
We should find out more about Smith's health this weekend. His status for Sunday night's showdown will most definitely be something to follow closely. On Friday, Jerry Jones said a final call on Smith will be made on Sunday.
