NFC East power rankings: NY Giants reach new low after Week 2 loss
Week 2 in the NFL is officially in the books and it was again another rough go for the New York Giants. Despite some bright spots being shown in their matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sunday like first-round pick Malik Nabers hauling in his first NFL touchdown, it was another brutal loss for Big Blue.
At 0-2, it is looking like another rough season is in store for the Giants, as their schedule does not get any easier - their next four opponents all finished with winning records last year. Despite being just two weeks into the regular season, are the G-Men really the worst team in the NFC East? Here are the power rankings in the NFC East after Week 2:
4. New York Giants
Sorry Giants fans, but Big Blue is the worst team in the division and possibly all of the NFL. The Giants keep finding ways to lose games and Sunday was another disaster. After losing Graham Gano on the first play of the game, it cost New York dearly. Despite scoring three touchdowns, not having a kicker was pretty much the difference-maker for the Giants, as seven Commanders field goals were enough to hand the Giants yet another loss.
Also, the Giants defense could not get a stop, as the Commanders, despite not posting a touchdown, scored on every possession. Pass-rushers Brian Burns and Kayvon Thibodeaux were once again no-shows on defense. This team is quite simply a mess and there seems to be no end in sight. Despite the offense showing some improvements and Daniel Jones throwing his first touchdown passes in about a year, the Giants are still unquestionably the worst team in their division.
