Ready for another member of the media doubting the NY Giants ahead of training camp getting here? This is something Big Blue nation must be used to by now, as countless people think it's going to be a down year for the NFC East side.

After going 9-7-1 last season and taking down the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round, the Giants are entering the year with high personal expectations. However, USA Today's Nate Davis isn't expecting this team to make any kind of a splash in 2023.

Matter of fact, Davis thinks it's going to be a year to forget for Brian Daboll and Co. In his latest post with season predictions for each team in the NFL, Davis has the Giants going 6-11 on the year and finishing in last place of the division. What?!

The NY Giants doubters are out in full force this summer

"Despite a feel-good 2022 – when this decidedly average team did enough to qualify for a wild-card berth and win a playoff game before getting thoroughly embarrassed by the Eagles in the divisional round – it was hard to get too enthused about Big Blue with such a daunting schedule ahead, including 2022 playoff teams in five of the first six weeks. Then the good feels were further diluted by the failure to reach a contractual commitment to franchised RB Saquon Barkley, who very much appears to be the offense’s linchpin after accounting for nearly 30% of its yardage last season. Seems another team may have to carry the Big Apple's hopes in 2023."

Sure, people have been concerned about Saquon Barkley's beef with the front office, but the additions of Darren Waller, Parris Campbell, Jalin Hyatt and others will be huge for the offense. Oh, and Tuesday's breaking news of Barkley signing a one-year deal and reporting to camp is only providing amazing vibes for camp.

Daniel Jones has plenty of weapons to work with this campaign, which will be massive for the $160 million man. The Giants, set with an over/under of 7.5 wins by the Vegas oddsmakers, will have a great chance to set the tone for the rest of the season if they can take down the Cowboys in Week 1 too.

Dallas is favored to come out on top, but we'll get a great look at this team's potential in that showdown. No disrespect to Davis, but we think he's way off with his thinking about NY. The Giants will look to make him eat his words in '23.
