Watch Daniel Jones and Jalin Hyatt connect for one of the best plays of training camp
This is what NY Giants fans have been hoping to see since Jalin Hyatt was drafted by the team in late April. Over at training camp, Hyatt has been making plenty of noise in recent days, with his speed on full display for people to enjoy.
On Thursday, Hyatt recorded the play of the day with Daniel Jones - actually it may be one of the best moments this summer. On this play, Danny Dimes let a deep ball rip, hoping to find the rookie speedster. He did just that, with Hyatt coming down with an acrobatic reception:
The Jalin Hyatt buzz continues to grow for the NY Giants
That was on the money there from Jones, with Hyatt somehow being able to post the fantastic reception. Both Xavier McKinney and Darnay Holmes were in a great spot to prevent Hyatt from hauling in the pigskin, but it wasn't meant to be for the defensive backs.
Hyatt may be a third-round pick, but he's playing with the confidence of a Day 1 guy right now. When speaking to the media after practice, Hyatt made it clear he's feeling great right now learning the offense and he'll be ready to make a huge impact once the regular season arrives too.
Hyatt has Offensive Rookie of the Year on his mind and people would love to see that happen for him. With his blazing wheels, No. 84 has a fantastic opportunity to open up the field for this offense and be a matchup nightmare for opposing DBs.
There are sure to be some first-year mistakes from Hyatt, but the potential is there. He's continuing to excite people with his electric style of play. Once the preseason gets here too, look for Hyatt to try and make a statement going up against the Lions, Panthers and Jets.
