From the looks of Joe Schoen's face, it seems as if though he thought John Michael Schmitz wasn't going to make it to East Rutherford. During Day 2 of the NFL Draft, the NY Giants were able to land the Minnesota center with the No. 57 overall pick.

However, Schoen indeed was worried that the talented lineman would be off the clock. A new video has made its way to social media going inside the Giants draft room throughout the draft. In the clip below, the Giants and Schoen were panicked when they saw Chicago had traded up to No. 56 overall. Luckily, they went with a cornerback, and moments later, JMS was a Giant.

NY Giants landing John Michael Schmitz at No. 57 overall still feels like a steal

Boom! Schoen was pretty rattled here, but look at how calm Brian Daboll is. We'll have more on this in a different piece, but it's pretty interesting that the Giants were ready to select Jalin Hyatt in the second round at that spot.

Instead, Coach Dabes and Schoen knew they needed a starting center for the future, and that's exactly what they've got with Schmitz. From the moment he landed in East Rutherford, the young hoss has turned plenty of heads. Fans can't wait to see him take the field come Week 1.

Not only that, but a lot of people are interested to see how he can do lining up against the fierce NY defensive line. Sure, there will be some growing pains for Schmitz during Year 1 in the NFL, but no one can argue that his potential is through the roof.

Schoen is thrilled to have the OL in town, as inconsistent play at center was a major issue for Big Blue last season. That's not looking to be the case next fall and beyond.
