Here's the pass-rush depth that NY Giants fans have been calling for over the past few weeks. With the 53-man roster deadline set for Tuesday afternoon, you had a feeling general manager Joe Schoen would get creative to add some pieces.

That's arrived moments ago, with NFL insider Tom Pelissero reporting that the G-Men have landed 6-3, 280-pound defensive end/outside linebacker Boogie Basham from the Buffalo Bills. That first name alone has Big Blue supporters excited about this move, but his solid frame should also bring a smile to your face.

The NY Giants have traded for former second-round pick Boogie Basham

Basham was a second-round pick of the Bills in 2021, when Schoen was still working under Brandon Beane in Buffalo. There's familiarity there, and let's be frank, it's never a surprise to see a former Bill make his way to East Rutherford.

The newest Giant wasn't a star for the AFC East side by any means, but he appeared in 23 games over the past two years, posting 47 total tackles and 4.5 sacks. Schoen has prioritized depth up front for the defense this offseason and Basham is the latest example of that.

It's also been a busy morning thus far for Schoen, as he continues to work his magic in trying to get down to the 53-man limit by 4 p.m. ET. Some of the biggest moves included releasing Jamison Crowder, Tommy DeVito (likely headed to the practice squad) and others.

Now, though, one of the biggest pieces of news for the day will surely be the addition of Basham for defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. Hang tight, Giants fans, as Schoen could be in for another surprise or two in the next few hours. The man never stops working.
