We absolutely love this man. NY Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale is not only a football genius, but he's also one of the coolest dudes on the planet. This offseason, fans were worried that he might end up leaving the organization for a different job.

Luckily, Martindale is back with the G-Men for the 2023 campaign, ready to help this team build off of their 9-7-1 season from a year ago. Martindale also plans on being back with Big Blue next season and beyond. While speaking to the media on Thursday morning, Wink didn't hold back in saying he hopes to retire with the G-Men:

Incredible. Earlier this offseason, Martindale was receiving head coaching interest, including interviews with the Indianapolis Colts. In the end, Martindale returned to East Rutherford, which was incredible news for head man Brian Daboll.

Martindale also said this isn't a stepping-stone job at him for all. He loves being able to rock Giants gear on Sundays and he's also ready to help this team try and get to the next level. Martindale made a massive impact on NY last year and more of the same will be on the way this fall and winter.

There have been some fantastic additions brought in for the defensive side of the ball, highlighted by Joe Schoen signing linebacker Bobby Okereke to a $40 million deal, plus NY using the No. 24 overall pick on Deonte Banks. Martindale is thrilled to have both those guys suiting up for him.

The Giants have huge expectations for this upcoming season and having both Martindale and Mike Kafka (also received HC interest) back is massive for this team. With Martindale in particular, his energy and passion for the game is tough to match. Giants Nation has to be thrilled over his latest comments.
