NY Giants worked out a veteran QB and others with Week 5 here
For a second, plenty of NY Giants fans were at a loss for words when news dropped that Joe Schoen brought in veteran quarterback C.J. Beathard for a workout. This not only came in from out of the blue, but it didn't make sense at all. Is Drew Lock injured, is Tommy DeVito on the trade block? Tell us something, Joe!
Leave it to Art Stapleton and Dan Duggan to get to the bottom of things for us and clear up any speculation. According to the two beat writers, Beathard was brought in to throw to the wideouts the G-Men also brought in for a workout. Per Stapleton, the Beathard workout was more along the lines of what happened over the summer with New Jersey native Jarrett Guarantano and a signing isn't on the team's radar:

So, there you have it, nothing to see there. There's always going to be a lot of attention on quarterbacks being brought to town, but this feels like more of an emergency option for the Giants down the road. Entering the battle with the Seahawks, Daniel Jones is coming off three strong games running the offense.
However, the Giants have let some close games slip away, which has them at 1-3 on the season. Seattle suffered its first loss of the year during Monday Night Football, with the Detroit Lions taking them down in primetime.
Whenever Seattle and New York face off, it's always quite intriguing. Jones is going to hope to put on a show and lead his team to an upset win, while Drew Lock will be his backup and Tommy DeVito will be the No. 3 signal-caller. Barring a bit of a stunner, that's going to be the Big Blue QBs room for the rest of the fall and winter.
