Are the NY Giants going to end up making another move at defensive back to help out Brian Daboll and new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen? We're hoping to find out soon. One player who we know won't be back with the G-Men is former safety Bobby McCain.

That's because the veteran DB has put the pen to paper on a new deal with the Minnesota Vikings, NY's Week 1 opponent. While this isn't a big loss for NY or anything, Minnesota might have actually done Joe Schoen and Co. a favor. That's because the NFC North side has inked McCain, but that still leaves Stephon Gilmore out there ready to find a new home:

The Minnesota Vikings have signed former Giants safety Bobby McCain

McCain, who also has CB experience, appeared in 10 games for the Giants last campaign, but didn't post any starts. This is a cheap, depth signing for the Vikings, and not one their fanbase was hoping for. Nope, a quick look on social media shows that people in Minnesota want Gilmore or Xavien Howard.

The same can be said for the Giants faithful. Breon Borders was just signed, but the veteran CB, similar to McCain, is nothing more than a depth move. Even Cor'Dale Flott has seen people calling for Schoen to make a move for a veteran corner, with Gilmore high on the list for a lot of people.

The Vikings have been linked to Gilmore for quite some time, but nothing has been done there. It's unknown if the Giants and Schoen are going to push for something with Gilmore either, but he sure would check a lot of boxes for the Big Blue defense.

For now, all we can do is refresh 'X' to see if Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport will provide us with any Gilmore updates. As for McCain, he'll arrive at camp in Minnesota looking to make a name for himself and hope he can stick around for the Week 1 matchup with his former team.
