Watch Tom Brady take cheap shot at Giants QB Daniel Jones for no good reason
There's just something about Tom Brady riling up NY Giants fans. This time, though, it's not Eli Manning who he is going after. Instead, it seems that Big Blue signal-caller Daniel Jones, coming off a rough 2023 season, is TB12's new big apple target.
While speaking at Fanatics Fest NYC in Manhattan, Brady was talking about how he doesn't want to be overly critical now that he's moving to the broadcast booth. He brought up terrible interceptions, and then for some odd reason Danny Dimes was the first name that came to his mind. He tried stepping back on his original statement, then went ahead and went after Jones again. What's Brady's deal here?
Tom Brady trolling NY Giants QB Daniel Jones came in from out of nowhere
The crowd on hand at the Javits Center was shocked - Stephen A. Smith seemed to love it. Brady added that he wasn't even being critical of Jones, but then he delivered a "maybe I was a little bit" line. Oh, Tom.
This isn't the first time someone has gone after Jones, as it's been a rough year for him. After he signed his $160 million contract, the 2023 campaign didn't go to plan. He tossed for only two touchdowns and six interceptions before going down with his torn ACL.
Jones has been working around the clock in his rehab and he's now ready for his first game action in the preseason Week 2 showdown vs. the Texans. Jones didn't play against the Lions, but it's time to see what he can do now that he's healthy.
The former No. 6 overall pick is going to want to silence some of his haters with strong play during the limited action he's expected to see. Now we know Brady is among the analysts who don't think too much of his game. We can only hope Jones doesn't throw an INT vs. Houston. If he does, perhaps we'll hear from Brady again.
