Watch Vikings LB call out the NY Giants and basically guarantee a win at MetLife
If you were looking for some extra drama ahead of the NY Giants battle vs. the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1, leave it to linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. to deliver for you. Ahead of the season-opener, Pace spoke with a Minnesota reporter and he made it quite clear that he doesn't have any worries about taking on the Giants offense.
While Pace acknowledged that Daniel Jones, Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary will be ready to do their thing at MetLife Stadium, he also didn't even blink when saying he and his teammates are about to 'go crazy' against them. According to Pace, this 'ain't even gonna be no matchup.' Those are the words of a young man who is quite confident:
Vikings LB Ivan Pace Jr. isn't worried about the Giants ahead of Week 1
Giants fans have seen what Pace had to say and they're letting him have it on social media. He has spiced this contest up, that's for sure. It will be on the G-Men to make him eat his words and it all starts with Jones. Danny Dimes is about to play in his first regular season game since tearing his ACL last fall.
Jones only played in one preseason game this summer, having an up-and-down day against the Houston Texans. His two interceptions were brutal to watch, with his pick-six being one that is still leading to people trolling him. Despite that, Jones has confidence that he can help this team turn things around and get back to the postseason later this year.
Will he be able to make that happen? We'll find out soon, but the pressure is on for Jones to showcase some improvement. The good news for him is that Nabers is in town, while the offensive line is going to be much better than the group we saw in '23 - the same one that allowed a league-worst 85 sacks.
With Brian Daboll calling the plays as well, you have to hope that the offense will be able to look strong vs. Minnesota. Pace has zero doubt in his mind, however, that Minnesota will have its way with New York. Come Sunday, Pace will have to back his trash talk, but something tells us Jones and Nabers will get the last laugh.
